I cannot tell you what to do, watching the US president and his horrific regime trying to plunge the world into flame and darkness. I can’t tell you because I have no idea either.
All I can tell you is this:
You have to know, with total and completely clarity, that nobody is coming to save us.
And knowing that, you will feel lost — but strangely clear.
And suddenly the work will be on you.
And you will do it, because that is •just what you do•, because you •know• that nobody else is coming.
And you will still have no idea what to do, even as you are already doing it.

Personally I think the internet should exist but should have stayed text only and require CLI.
@pluralistic @forrcaho @dctucker I try to split the difference with gentle reminders. If we don’t give pointers to the original definition, then the million normies never learn it; mirriam webster and a million linkedinfluencers posting slop about how to “de-enshittify your marketing funnel” or whatever will bubble to the top and all that remains is a longer word for “degrade”. This is of course different from *scolding* people for using it that way though.
I like bikes and beers and locks and sometimes computers.
